Environmental Specialist I or II
Arizona G&T Cooperatives is seeking candidates for the position of Environmental Specialist I or II. This position ensures continuous compliance with environmental permits and regulations applicable to operations at Arizona Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. (AEPCO), an electric generation and transmission cooperative. Assisting with the planning, implementing and maintaining a variety of safety and environmental programs to assure facility compliance. This position is based at the Apache Generating Station in Cochise, Arizona but could require a regular day, off site, at a substation or Benson campus for inspections or cleanups.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Minimum requirements are Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology or closely related field and up to 3 years relevant work experience. Successful candidates should have thorough knowledge and experience in the proper method of identifying, handling, storing, record-keeping, transporting, and disposing of all types of regulated wastes. Excellent oral and written communication skills. The ability to lift and safely carry environmental sampling materials and equipment, including driving a truck and trailer for well sampling. The following are preferred or have the ability to become certified in: 40-hour HAZWOPER, Certified Operator-Water Distribution, and Method 9.
Salary: $5, $8,325.33/ monthly (Salary and level will be dependent upon education and experience)
