    Experience and Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Basic clerical and data entry experience preferred.
    • Customer Services or call center experience preferred.

    Job Duties

    • Process diet orders and updates patient information in Computrition Hospitality Suite appropriately and quickly.
    • Obtains patient menu selections for all meals and enters information into Computrition Hospitality Suite accurately and in a timely manner
    • Effectively manages customer complaints and refers to supervisor as appropriate. Verifies that customer issues have been resolved.
    • Processes, prints and distributes daily documents in a timely manner. Including meal tallies, patient menus, nourishment labels and tray tickets.
    • Manages telephone calls promptly and professionally, utilizing telephone etiquette techniques.
    • Ensures that all patients are fed in a timely manner. Processes late trays effectively and ensures tray line begins promptly and runs efficiently.
    • Verifies accuracy of all patient trays.
    • Makes telephone calls to nursing units, as needed, for clarification of diet orders or requests.
    • Manages the special needs of patients, as indicated.
    • Makes telephone calls to patients to discuss menu options, food preferences, etc.
    • Assists in trouble shooting of computer problems by calling Help Desk or alerting Manager.
    • Complies with the departmental performance improvement plan by managing patient satisfaction surveys.
    • Documents number of meals served following each meal service and late trays served.
    • Files all daily documents, as needed.
    • Ensures adequate supplies to maintain diet office running efficiently, by communicating ordering needs to Administrative Coordinator.

    Working Conditions

    Work requires heavy physical effort and must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching are required. Exposure to warewashing chemicals/cleaning agents. Exposure to temperature variations and contact with wet surfaces. Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums require prior approval of the Vice President for Human Resources Administration, or his/her designee.
