    Job Description Summary

    The Engineering Manager is to be a subject-matter-expert with accountabilities that include the development, implementation, compliance of policies, procedures for the maintenance and operational up-time of a mission critical facilityâTMs mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life/safety systems.

    You will monitor the success of programs and look for continuous improvement opportunities.


    This position is expected to help direct others who perform engineering, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, repairs, and maintenance duties in support of the facility.


    The positionâTMs main objective is to maximize the value of the clientâTMs assets while achieving the operational and financial goals and objectives by developing, implementing, and executing an overall Strategic Plan.

    Responsibilities also include compliance & operational excellence oversight, adherence to business plan, budgetary control, capital planning and oversight of the daily management and operational activities associated with the portfolio.

    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities:
    Â


    • Â Provide operational leadership and support and technical oversight for all facilities assigned, which may include remote field offices. Â
    • Â Provide leadership and management support to facility management and technicians who have the responsibility for day-to-day operations and maintenance of the building support systems (heating, ventilation, electrical distribution system, plumbing, fire suppression system, etc.)Â
    • Â Ensure proper procedures and standards are being practiced and maintained for EH&S, Engineering and Critical operations.Â
    • Â Provide technical oversight for the design and implementation of the preventative maintenance program.Â
    • Â Analyze equipment downtime ramification and develop contingency plans in case of equipment failure.Â
    • Â Ensure auditing programs are in place and develop procedures that support the account team in compliance oversight.Â
    • Â Ensure that all technical work is carried out according to code and building standards, that certificates of insurance are correct and in place, and that all work complies with the clientâTMs requirements.Â
    • Â Ensure that all equipment is maintained in accordance with the manufacturerâTMs recommendations and/or Cushman & Wakefield policies & procedures.Â
    • Â Provide technical leadership and management support to facility management and techniciansÂÂ
    • Â Review operations, maintenance, and capital improvements of all Life Safety, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Elevator systems required to operate the facilitiesÂ
    • Â Report abnormal or critical conditions immediately to the relevant C&W Facility Management, Account director and client partner.Â
    • Â Recommend and implement critical systems policy and procedures including industry compliant MOPs, SOPs, and Change Management processes.Â
    • Â Review all plans for adding or upgrading new equipment, infrastructure, building improvements; interface with applicable building management and operational staff, provide technical guidance and leadership; and interact and oversee contracted labor and vendors.Â
    • Â Develop and deliver training methods, materials, and programs relative to building operating standardsÂ
    Job Requirements & QualificationsÂ

    Education:
    Â


    • Â Four-year college degree required; degree in Mechanical or Electrical/CS Engineering preferred. Does not require a license.Â
    • Â Plus, at least 5 years of related experience in the operation, installation, and maintenance of building systems.Â

    Minimum Requirements:
    Â


    • Â Financial knowledge necessary for developing operational and capital budgets, providing budget variances details, and reporting as required by managementÂ
    • Â Data analysis/technical acumen.Â
    • Â Strong interpersonal skillsÂ
    • Â Excellent oral and written communication skillsÂ
    • Â Experience in high profile public facing environment preferredÂ
    • Â Proficient computer and systems knowledgeÂ
    • Â Strong discipline of financial management including financial tracking, budgeting, and forecastingÂ
    • Â Ability to develop and maintain a client focused, partnering and consultative approachÂ
    • Â Proficient in anticipating client needs, thinking strategically, solutions focused and be both proactive and reactive as the situation and circumstances dictateÂ
    • Â Ability to read and understand construction specifications and blueprintsÂ
    • Â Skilled in Building Management Systems maintenance and monitoringÂ
