    About the job Ambulatory EEG Technologist

    Our client is hiring for a full-time or part-time Ambulatory EEG Technologist in Oklahoma City, OK.

    Position Summary

    The primary responsibility is to perform ambulatory EEG studies in clinics, nursing homes, and patient homes.

    The Ambulatory EEG Technologist will perform EEG procedures according to company policies and procedures & will maintain patient safety during clinically significant events and other related duties. Communication skills are essential for this position. During EEG procedures for which competence has not been achieved, the Ambulatory EEG Technologist will train under direct technical supervision. Once training is completed and all required competencies have been achieved, the neurophysiologist works under indirect technical supervision.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Ensures electrode application in adherence with the International 1020 System.
    • Knowledgeable in correct EEG performance and recognition of clinically significant events and follows policy and procedures regarding critical test results.
    • Maintains patients safety through communication for duration of the study.
    • Continues to learn and apply basic and intermediate EEG waveform recognition, relevant medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, infection control, current HIPPA practices, contraindications for activation procedures, instrumentation, and preparation for use.
    • Performs patient assessment as related to care, such as electrode fixation product allergies, movement restrictions, and cognitive function.
    • Communicates appropriately and effectively with the patient and healthcare staff to convey the purpose of the EEG and answers questions regarding the procedure.
    • Understands why and how to maintain correct electrode connections.
    • Identifies and performs basic and intermediate technical troubleshooting and artifact identification and elimination.
    • Understands and follows concepts of digital equipment and electrical safety within the AEEG unit.
    • Has knowledge of alternate montages, protocols, and alternate equipment settings and their effects should be applied.
    • Contacts supervisory staff as appropriate for problems within the AEEG unit, as well as supply needs.
    • Performs any other related duties that are consistent with patient and technical care for this level.
    Qualifications
    • High school graduate or equivalent
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
    • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
    • Reaching including above/below shoulder height
    • Frequent kneeling/crawling
    Work Conditions
    • Position is patient home, nursing home, or clinic based
    • Work will require domestic travel up to 100% of time in job
    • Must demonstrate ability to perform work based on customer/third party standards
    • Work conditions are normal for a home/clinic/nursing home environment

    • $20-$30/hr (Depending on experience)
