    Overview:

    Position Summary:

    The Quality Assurance Analyst position plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and quality of incoming ingredients, work-in-process product, and finished goods. This person shall report any non-conformance of raw materials or finished goods to the plant QA Supervisor or QA Manager.

    This position will work Monday-Thursday (4:00am-4:00pm)

    Responsibilities:
    • Collect samples of ingredients, products and/or packages and monitor and test according to established procedures.
    • Monitor processes to assure they are operating consistently.
    • Document neatly and precisely all results.
    • Label and maintain samples of ingredients or products for retains or shelf life monitoring.
    • Identifying potential hazards and solution to issue.
    • Addressing customer complaints and solution.
    • Organize collected data for management review (charts, graphs, tables, etc.)
    • Maintain lab area and equipment in orderly fashion.
    • Communicate inconsistent results or observations to management immediately.
    • Maintains standard production quantities/rates for each product.
    • Recommend methods for improving any processes to reduce waste, improve productivity, improve quality and/or consistency.
    • Accurately weigh colors, flavors and other small ingredients.
    • Test R&D samples for Food Safety and specification development.
    • Assist production when necessary.
    • Regular Attendance is required in accordance with Company attendance policy and procedures.
    • Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Management
    • Complete initial/annual training to ensure the individual is properly qualified (QI) to perform all required job tasks as outlined in training programs/records.
    • Practices integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvement and positive interactions with all Team Members and visitors.
    Qualifications:
    • Experience is a plus in and understanding of quality assurance and/or control processes, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
    • Basic math, science, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.
    • Ability to efficiently organize work, tasks and time.
    • Written and oral communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally & written to and work well with Team, Management, Customers, Vendors and visitors and to follow and give accurate detailed instruction (written & oral).
    • Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast-paced environment.
    • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required.

    Working Conditions/Environment:
    • Works in a manufacturing environment where the Team Member is regularly required to speak, read, and comprehend, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb, and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment.
    • Must be able to push/pull 150 pounds short distances.
    • Lift up to 75 pounds repetitively.
    • Stand for up to 12 hours with regular breaks.
    • May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
    • The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap.
    • SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed SHOES, Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists) are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards. Condition of these items must be inspected by employee daily and be replaced when no longer providing the optimal protection of the Team Member.
