Job summary
The Department Supervisor Night Operations is responsible for overseeing and driving efficiencies in back-end operational activities during the overnight shift.Key responsibilities include team leadership, assigning team members to activities to meet customer demands and redeploying when necessary; participating in interviews and providing input into selection decisions for new associates; connecting with the team on a daily basis to understand any challenges they are facing; providing open and timely feedback and performance coaching to members of the team; encouraging team members to share ideas and best practices for delivering outstanding customer service;
Also includes overseeing front-end operational activities such as check outs returns overrides till audits PUIS Desk or product staging for pickup in store etc., ensuring that the appropriate headcount is allocated in each check-out area e.g Garden Pro Front register areas Customer Service Returns Desks Head Cashier posts PUIS Desk Money Room
Additional responsibilities include performing payroll closeout process monitoring Customer Service desk activity supporting when needed identifying any associate relations concerns taking action as needed including elevating concerns senior management HR responding quickly effectively unexpected events e.g callouts no-shows unscheduled deliveries by reprioritizing tasks maintaining focus safety security shrink prevention ensuring doors gates secured monitored signs shoplifting theft reported appropriately steps taken maintain inventory shrink budget integrity conducting daily safety reviews noting hazards keeping store areas clean organized monitoring potential theft security risks recommending strategies reduce unproductive time waste or product loss analyzing operational activities determining ways reduce impact on customer self leadership seeking performance feedback from others pursuing development opportunities proactive building collaborative relationships cross-functional partners setting example adapting work challenges organizational change managing associate response call buttons validating aisles remain clean safe free clutter handing off shift observations person next MOD funneling non-MOD activities e.g customer complaints management approvals opening closing store previous leaders The Department Supervisor Night Operations also has specific responsibilities related front end operations including but not limited limited checking out customers handling returns answering phones responding customer inquiries proactively addressing concerns ensuring Specialty Pro areas properly staffed greeting customers engaging customers driving sales shifting associates high traffic department hotspots needed managing cashiers validate accuracy accuracy handling employee conflicts reporting incidents escalating issues higher levels if necessary assisting manager-on-duty duties ensure smooth operation store Manager-on-Duty provides full leadership over entire store drives engagement legal compliance staffing efficiency ensures quality sales service quality walk floor observing interaction between employees managers provide real-time guidance assist resolution respond escalated situations consult subject matter experts answer questions related job function drive business results improve profitability enhance overall experience all stakeholders achieve company goals vision values.
