Position: Application SQL Developer with Administrator (DBA)

Location: New York City, NY- only local (Hybrid)

PETADATA is currently looking to hire for the position of Application SQL Developer with Administrator (DBA) for one of their clients.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Must collaborate with application developers and business analysts to design and implement efficient database structures.
• Create and maintain logical and physical data models.
• Normalize data to minimize redundancy and improve query performance.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data retrieval, transformation, and reporting.
• Ensure efficient data manipulation operations (inserts, updates, deletes).
• Implement stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions.
• Design and create database objects (tables, indexes, views, etc.) based on business requirements.
• Define constraints, relationships, and data integrity rules.
• Optimize schema design for scalability and performance.
• Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize query execution plans.
• Manage security, access controls, and user permissions.
• Perform regular backups and ensure data recovery procedures are in place.

Required Skills:

• Required 9+ years of experience as an SQL Server DBA or similar role.
• Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, ER/Studio, or similar).
• Strong understanding of DML (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE) and DDL (CREATE, ALTER, DROP) statements.
• Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and T-SQL.
• Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and query optimization techniques.
• Certifications such as MCSA: SQL Server or MCSE: Data Management and Analytics are a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
