    Description
    Position Summary

    Primarily responsible for conducting continuous virtual audits and assessments of store compliance with company compliance programs, with a focus on store execution of hazardous waste management, waste diversion, and product date code adherence.

    Provides reporting, identifies trends, and serves as a resource to and works collaboratively with internal business partners to implement improvements and identify and resolve critical issues.

    During special events, the holiday season and/or when not otherwise engaged in audit activities, performs general store operational duties as assigned.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities


    S

    chedules and executes coordinated virtual audits, as well as full compliance audits and records findings.


    Maintains records assuring that all products found near expiration is handled within company markdown and mark out of stock guidelines.


    Maintains program knowledge and serves as a subject matter expert regarding compliance obligations for store operations with regards to the hazardous waste program, date code rotation program, and waste diversion, recycling & product compliance programs.


    Maintains records assuring that hazardous waste disposal, date code rotation, recycling, and waste diversion are handled according to company policy.


    Partners with Store Operations leaders on action plans to address performance and/or execution opportunities.


    Reports audit compliance results and partners with Regulatory Compliance, Store Operations and Legal leadership regarding results, action plans and support needs.


    Monitors task management system for store compliance to directed date code compliance process


    Performs general store operational duties including cashiering, customer service, truck unloading, stocking, merchandise recovery, and light cleaning or maintenance as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


    High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required. Must be 18 years of age.


    Minimum 1 year of Big Lots store operations experience preferred.


    Systems capable including basic proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word.


    Strong interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills required.


    Work location must be a Big Lots store in California or in Arizona or Nevada near the California border.
