    NATURE AND SCOPE:

    Under the guidance of the Center Manager, the Pre-K Lead Teacher will be responsible for leading a team, planning, and evaluating Pre-K and Early Learning Services. This position is crucial in providing age-appropriate instruction to prepare four-year-old children for kindergarten.



    RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
    • Deliver quality instruction to Pre-kindergarten children following Core Standards to prepare them for kindergarten and future success.
    • Interact professionally with students, parents, colleagues, and leadership, maintaining a child-centered approach.
    • Create a conducive learning environment that encourages active participation.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of age-appropriate practices for young children.
    • Maintain accurate attendance records following program guidelines.
    • Attend required training sessions for Pre-K teachers.
    • Offer content-related instruction based on the YMCA Early Learning Curriculum.
    • Show understanding of children's developmental stages and support them accordingly.
    • Conduct regular developmental assessments and maintain records.
    • Implement inclusive and age-appropriate practices across all developmental areas.
    • Comply with all regulations and guidelines related to the job.
    • Engage in teaching activities that support children's development.
    • Provide constant supervision during all activities and maintain a safe environment.
    • Manage inappropriate behaviors in a positive manner.
    • Respond promptly to children in need.
    • Create a language-rich environment through reading and writing activities.
    • Plan and implement engaging and personalized activities for children.
    • Organize classroom space effectively and conduct ongoing observations.
    • Utilize assessment information for planning and individualization.
    • Refer suspected disabilities and abuse to appropriate authorities.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field.
    • Familiarity with project-based curriculum such as Creative Curriculum.
    • Passion for working with Pre-K students.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Credentials verification in Georgia Professional Development System (PDS) before hiring.
    • Physical ability to meet job requirements.

    PREFERRED REQUIRMENTS:
    • Valid GA teaching certification (T4 or T5) in Early Childhood Education.
