    Description

    Join our growing, family-friendly firm with a focus on serving the construction industry as an Employment Defense and Compliance Attorney.

    Primary responsibility will be to represent and advise clients on employment matters, which shall include:

    1. Litigating wage and hour, misclassification, discrimination, and restrictive covenant cases in state and federal court and before administrative boards.
    2. Representing small and medium businesses in relation to investigations by the Mass. Attorney General's Fair Labor Division, the US Dept. of Labor or other government agencies.
    3. Handbook review and drafting and advising clients on employment policies.
    4. Drafting and negotiation of employment agreements, non-solicitation and non-compete agreements, and commissions agreements.
    5. Conduct workplace or jobsite investigations.

    Secondary responsibility will include some general civil litigation and/or transactional work and research and preparation of articles for publication in scholarly and trade journals on subject matter relevant to the firm's client base.

    1,500 hour per year billable hour expectation. Bonus for exceeding expectations.

    Required Qualifications:

    1. J.D. from an ABA accredited law school;
    2. Minimum 4 years relevant experience;
    3. Strong academic credentials; and
    4. Admission to practice in Massachusetts.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    1. Experience with Davis-Bacon and state prevailing wage requirements.
    2. Admission to practice (or pending admission) in Rhode Island.

    Employment Conditions:

    1. Hybrid schedule. Minimum 1 day per week in office.
    2. Health and dental insurance through Firm's plan.
    3. Paid time off.
