Job summary:

The Fire Suppression Tech is responsible for performing skilled work in the areas of legally required testing and service of fire suppression systems and associated electronic/electrical signaling components throughout the University's facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Tests for proper operation of fire suppression system components including but not limited to control valves, drains, inspector test valves, electronic alarm system interface devices, tamper switches, flow switches, and water driven alarm gongs and halon systems;
  • Inspects standpipe systems service, electric fire pumps and performs limited service to equipment;
  • Oversees contracted personnel performing preventive maintenance of primary movers testing; provides limited service to engine driven fire pumps;
