    General Statement:

    The Electrical Engineer is responsible for specification, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing, and physical plant equipment, along with project work to improve the safety, quality, and performance of the manufacturing facility. Under the direction of the Plant Engineering Manager, the electrical engineer will work with the engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Maintain automatic machines with PLC's, hydraulics, and pneumatic controls.
    • Able to utilize software to troubleshoot PLC's HMI's and AC Drives.
    • Layout, install, adjust, and maintain a variety of electrical equipment such as wiring, motors, switches, controllers, and electrical mechanisms.
    • Diagnose and remedy any electrical trouble quickly to avoid shutdowns.
    • Determine necessary repairs, tear down, and reassemble machines.
    • Maintain equipment drawings and documentation in order to utilize such references for timely repairs.
    • Troubleshoot potential problems before machinery incur additional expense or production downtime.
    • Assist in installation of new equipment as necessary.
    • Demonstrate flexibility by being on-call as needed to maintain production schedules and remaining on the shift when needed to manage shifting priorities and demands.
    • Perform preventative maintenance, 5S, improvement, and special projects, as well as perform other assigned tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Preferred: Minimum; BSEE or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology
    • Preferred: Experience performing maintenance and repair of machinery, support equipment, and facility with a focus on electrical components..
    • Ability to work from blueprints, manufacturer specifications, and wiring diagrams.
    • Ability to use common precision measurement gages and equipment.
    • Technical knowledge of automated production machine equipment and maintenance required.
    • Experience with batch mixing, coating, and laminate extrusion processes preferred.
    • Experience with Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, and Yaskawa PLC's preferred.
    • Physically able to pass spirometry exam for test fitting of respiratory equipment.

    Physical Demands:

    The employee is frequently required to talk, hear, sit, type, stand, and walk. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. May occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. May occasionally be required to bend, reach, squat, and kneel.

    Safety Requirements:

    Due to the nature of the work performed in this job, the employee is required to wear safety equipment when spending time in Warehouse/Production areas.
