    Job DescriptionDescriptionThe Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. Our talented staff of more than 450+ professionals deliver integrated planning, design, engineering and construction solutions to our clients from our offices throughout Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia and Alabama.

    Due to MSG's continued growth in our Survey Division, a new opening is available for a Survey Crew Chief in our Canton, MI offices
    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead a small team of Surveyors in their daily tasks and operations.
    • Use Robotic Total Stations, GPS and data collectors.
    • Perform field work for topographic, boundary and ALTA Surveys
    • Conduct property legal research both online and at County government offices.
    • Upload and download data collectors.
    • Check field notes for accuracy and completeness.

    Skills, Knowledge & ExpertiseExperience with the following is a plus, but not required:
    • Process topographic, boundary and ALTA Surveys using AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
    • Prepare legal descriptions and survey plats.
    • Prepare construction staking materials, including point files.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Knowledge of Trimble Robotic Total Stations and GNSS data collection.
    • Some experience with AutoCAD or Civil3D.
    • Must be able to obtain a Professional Surveyor license in the State of Michigan. Candidates who already hold a license are strongly encouraged to apply
