Description

The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) is currently implementing the Generate tool developed by the Center for Integration of IDEA Data (CIID). The ongoing project involves upgrading the Generate data model to align with version 10 of the CEDS data warehouse and enhancing the ETL processes that generate federal reports (EDFacts files) using this data model.

This role necessitates a proficient SQL Database Administrator to spearhead the following responsibilities:

• Rationalizing and mapping data between transactional and dimensional database models/systems
• Collaborating closely with database and system administrators to create stored procedures and ETL processes for the data warehouse system
• Working with vendors and other agency personnel to develop federally mandated reports through the Generate application
• Translating application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
• Demonstrating the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Performing effectively under tight time constraints
• Possessing analytical and complex problems solving skills

Bachelor's degree

• Extensive experience with the development of stored procedures and ETL processes using T-SQL (7 Years)
• Thorough understanding of data warehouse design hierarchies like star and snowflake schemas (7 Years)
• Proficiency in utilizing ALM tools for work item management, version control, code analysis, and testing (7 Years)
• Broad knowledge of the software development process and its technologies (7 Years)
• Familiarity with continuous integration (7 Years)
• Experience in creating and scheduling elastic jobs (5 Years)

Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills/experience in addition to meeting the minimum requirements:

• Experience with student information management systems and K-12 data and reporting
• Knowledge of Common Education Data Standards (CEDS)
• Experience in EDFacts Federal Reporting
• Proficiency in designing and modeling database structures based on business use cases
• .Net/Angular experience
• Azure Synapse pipeline experience
