The Process Technician will optimize safety, quality, and machine uptime through continuous improvement and utilization processes.

As a hands-on member of the Molding Core Team, you will collaborate with department employees to assist in setups, repairs, training, and other designated tasks.

The role involves monitoring safety, quality, and performance, troubleshooting mechanical, technical, and process issues, and maintaining continuous flow in daily production.

Responsibilities

Set up, start, operate, and monitor Injection Molding Machines (IMMs) and associated automation using approved process templates and control sheets.

Apply scientific molding principles to analyze, optimize, and standardize processes, including scrap reduction and process control sheet optimization.
Perform process, mold, material, and equipment sampling.
Conduct mechanical and basic electrical evaluations, troubleshooting, and repairs to molding machines, molds, and supporting equipment.
Prepare and mix resin materials, colorants, and regrind according to established formulas and processing requirements.
Ensure materials are processed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines.
Maintain accurate documentation and records, including process data, setup and daily checklists, and equipment logs.
Provide training and guidance to team members on internal processes, equipment operation, and safety practices.
Comply with PPE and site safety requirements, maintain housekeeping standards, and participate in safety initiatives.
Support special projects and additional responsibilities as business needs require.

Essential Skills

Experience in process engineering, injection molding, and plastic processing.
Ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance repairs on molds and equipment.
Proficiency in using process monitoring controls and conducting process standardization.
Strong understanding of plastics processing theory including material structure and the effects of moisture on material.
Comfortable using computers and necessary applications for documentation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associate's degree in Plastics Processing or equivalent combination of professional certification and demonstrated experience.
Formal apprenticeship completion in plastics processing or injection molding with additional industry certification is highly considered.
Five years of plastic molding experience in mold setup and process development.
Industry standard trainings such as RJG or FimmTech training in plastics processing.
Ability to work extended shifts, including in-week and weekend overtime as business needs dictate.
Mathematical skills, including the ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Work Environment

The role operates on a 1st shift schedule from 7:00am to 3:00pm, with alternative schedules possibly implemented based on business needs.

The work environment is a plastics manufacturing setting, and extended shifts may be required by production demands. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, HSA, and an Employee Assistance Program.

This is a Contract position based out of Caledonia, WI.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $ $32.00/hr.
