An employer is looking for a Senior Network Engineer in the Huntsville, AL area.

This resource will be responsible for the following:
Configure network devices

Maintain Configuration Management and Version Management of the devices, their configurations, and their software / firmware

Troubleshoot network and system issues

Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to regarding network design decisions

Generate, Update, and Review technical documentation

Support Test Events and System Demonstrations

Required Skills & Experience

Active Secret Clearance

Bachelors Degree in STEM related field

10-15 years of hands on

Networking Knowledge:
A strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, subnetting, VLANs, etc.


Operating Systems:
Familiarity with various operating systems, especially Windows and Linux.


Security Skills:
Knowledge of network security principles and practices.


Troubleshooting:
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve network issues.


Communication Skills:
Good communication skills are essential for interacting with colleagues, clients, and vendors.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Software Firewalls (iptables, etc.)

802.1Q VLANs

Packet examination tools (WireShark, tcpdump, etc.)

Layer 2 and Layer 3 Switches

Cross Domain Solutions

Multicast networking

MIL-STD-6017 Tactical Messaging

CCNA or CCNP
