    Summary

    Set up and break down of all banquet functions. Moves all tables and chairs. props and audio/visual equipment. Also takes inventory of all banquet equipment on a regular basis. Interacts with the guest to insure settings are to exact specifications.

    Essential Duties And Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Set up all functions according to diagram or verbal instructions provided by the Banquet Manager, which will include all tables, chairs, audio visual needs, staging, dance floor, special props, skirting and dressing of all buffet tables and special materials tables.
    • Break down all functions when instructed by Banquet Manager.
    • Inventory all wood, dance floor and edging, portable bars, audio visual equipment, chairs, chafing dishes and specialty items on a quarterly basis.
    • Transport all equipment associated with an event as prescribed by the Banquet Manager.
    • Attend the weekly Banquet event meeting and record all duties required to service an event.
    • Work with "Safety First" philosophy.
    • Drop chairs in event set up upon banquet server staff completion of room set.
    • Vacuum all designated areas in the banquet space as directed by Banquet Manager.
    • Empty all refuse from events including breakdown and disposal of no reusable props.
    • Prepare the following set ups: School Room, Theater, Sit Down Meal, Crescent, U-Shape, Hollow Square, Chevron, Buffet Style, and Concert Staging.
    • Perform quarterly steam clean of all banquet chairs.
    • Maintain all equipment for repairs and service.
    • Inspect all equipment to insure it is in proper working order.
    • Inspect all lighting in banquet rooms and replace as needed.
    • Prepare work orders for necessary repairs.
    • Cross train as a Banquet Server and assist when required.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Age Requirement

    Must be at least 18 years of age.

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
