    TRAVEL Register Nurse – Pre-OP/ PACU

    Location: Omaha, NE

    Weekly Gross: $2,065.00

    Hours: 40 hours per week


    Shift: 8 HR Days

    Requirements:
    • 1 year pre-op/pacu experience required.

    • BLS and ACLS required


    General job duties. Types of procedures required.

    Care of the surgical patient in both the pre-op and recovery phase in an outpatient setting. Essential Functions 1. Formulate clinical decisions and implement multi-dimensional plans of care that demonstrate independent judgment and critical thinking to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the patient through a collaborative practice with the health care team, ensuring consistency with private standards and/or state and federal regulations. 1.1 Utilize the nursing process; and individualize and implement a nursing plan of care, including patient/family education and discharge planning Utilize the nursing process to initiate an admission assessment. 1.2 Demonstrate expertise in systems assessment, recognition of significant changes in patient condition, establishment of priorities, and nursing interventions. Individualize and implement a nursing care plan. 1.3 Promote the team concept through interpersonal relationships with patients, families, and medical staff and/or other health care providers to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care. 1.4 Demonstrate respect for patients? rights, privacy and serve as a patient advocate.

    Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)

    Utilization of Epic as the electronic medical record. Omnicell system is used for medication dispensing. There is a satellite pharmacy on the unit used specifically for patients undergoing procedures at the surgical center. Client Alaris IV pumps Bladder Scanner Stryker beds/carts

    Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)

    8 hour shifts, 5 days per week, shift is No weekends, off shifts or holidays

    Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)

    May float to the Village Pointe Outpatient Surgery center as needed.

    7 Operating Rooms, with 26 pre-op/pacu bays
