- Provide meaningful technical contributions in the development, application, and licensing of SMR-PWR.
- Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with NRC rules and regulations, and quality assurance standards.
- Conduct core design and analysis for SMR-PWR
- Effectively communicate and coordinate activities with other team members on engineering/technical issues.
- Support the interface with various regulatory agencies (NRC, DOE, etc.) as appropriate.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure the successful integration of core design into overall reactor systems.
- Detail oriented and accountable for results.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities, problem solving skills, and process skills.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in nuclear engineering or a closely related technical discipline AND minimum of 7 years of experience in nuclear core design/optimization and/or nuclear fuel design/optimization.
- Any Radiation Shielding experience is a big plus
- Master's degree from an accredited university or college in nuclear engineering or a closely related technical discipline AND minimum of 7 years of experience in nuclear core design/optimization and/or nuclear fuel design/optimization.
- Ph.D. from an accredited university or college in nuclear engineering or a closely related technical discipline AND minimum of 7 years of experience with a thesis or substantial coursework in nuclear core design/optimization and/or nuclear fuel design/optimization.
- This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
- Prior experience with PWR core design
- Prior experience with neutronic and core simulation methods (eg., MCNP, CASMO/SIMULATE)
- Programming experience, particularly in Python.
- Working knowledge of nuclear reactor core licensing, technical specifications, safety margin bases, code methodology licensing, and related federal regulations.
- Experience in S3K for core design and analysis and rod ejection accident analysis.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nuclear Engineer specializing in Core Design for a challenging opportunity in the nuclear energy sector. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in core design, preferably with Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). The role requires expertise in CASMO/SIMULATE and proficiency in Python programming. The preferred work location for this role is Camden, NJ or Palisades MI. Hybrid work option available: 3 days in office and 2 at home
