    SUMMARY
    • To schedule timely arrangement of customer orders by producing new product or by pulling from stocked product in accord with shipping schedules.
    • The production schedule must be structured in a manner that maximizes production efficiencies with large material runs/minimal downtime for changeovers and still meets customer needs.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assigns production dates to sales orders
    • Meets shipping deadlines in order to obtain repeat business form a satisfied customer
    • Contributes to profit by scheduling in a manner to minimize downtime and max run times
    • Accurately uses Smartcom software to communicate order information to mill operators
    • Effectively communicates internally with sales, production and shipping to satisfy customer needs
    • Exercises proper inventory control methods to utilize and rotate old inventory
    • Recognizes special lead times to specific geographic areas to meet shipping schedules
    • Gathers changeover data and analyze to create and analyze benchmarks for efficiencies
    • Manages min/max levels of all finished goods inventory
    • Any other duties required by supervisor

    SAFETY
    • Works safely and follows all safety rules and operational procedures.
    • Wears and maintains all required PPE.
    • Keeps assigned work area clean at all times.
    • Understands all safety devices and their operation. Notifies management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to operation.
    • Safely operates all lifting devices per manufacturing specifications.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • Associate's degree in business or related discipline preferred
    • Working knowledge of manufacturing as it relates to raw and finished goods
    • Must be able to plan and organize multiple tasks. Must have basic understanding of the rollform process and skill with the system, part numbers and production capacities and capabilities
    • Must be competent in all general computer skills

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    • Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and converting fractions into decimals.
    • Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper accurately.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Manufacturing facility -- exposed to heat and cold
    • Personal Protective Equipment required at all times
    • Noise controlled environment
    • Activity level is high -- continuous overhead crane and forklift movement
