****Summary****
The purpose of this position is to develop ready-now director of operations successors for the Premium Prepared Foods business unit. Incumbents entering this role will have led food further processing plant operations elsewhere and use this role to gain the direct ready-eat/ready-to-cook food processing operational knowledge needed to assume a director of operations role. While working directly under the close oversite of the Perry Director of Operations, the incumbent will learn all facets of site leadership associated with food manufacturing. S/he will direct operational activity, maximize profits, maintain consistent product quality and meet customer needs. Additionally, s/he will be responsible for his/her assigned management team to select, develop, and motivate personnel as well as assuring quality staffing at all levels of management while adhering to safety and ergonomic goals and objectives. Incumbents will be deployed to other locations for training or to provide operational leadership as business demands necessitate. S/he is expected to be mobile and shall be prepared to transfer as director of operations vacancies occurred within Premium Prepared Foods.
****Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities****
Develops and executes business plans for areas of accountability.
Develops a strong, progressive management team to ensure the growth of the assigned business unit.
Provides guidance to the management team in developing solutions and budgets for improving processes, maintaining facilities, and innovative problem solving.
Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and promote a community image of the Complex as the preferred place to work. Will be periodically utilized to serve as Perdue Foods local management representative to the community and applicable workforce at certain events or assigned local matters.
Ensures that product quality, service, and reliability meet or exceeds our customers expectations.
****Minimum Education and Experience****
Bachelors degree and 7+ years of experience at the plant manager level or higher in Food Further Processing.
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge of budget development and administration, report analysis, USDA and employment law.
Broad integrated knowledge of manufacturing in a CPG food company or business unit.
Ability to travel to remote facilities and/or offices for meetings.
Must be able to demonstrate advanced continuous improvement/Lean Manufacturing experience and show success as a site senior operational leader.
****Experience Preferred****
Masters degree, World-class maintenance reliability, plus strong project management aptitude. Candidates for this role are desired to demonstrate advancement capability at least to the VP level in the future.
****Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements****
Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
When in a plant environment:
Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company
