Winterthur Search Fund

has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced, technically minded

Data Center Solutions Architect

to join our global project team.

Reporting to the Principal and Project Manager, the Solutions Architect will play a critical role in designing and implementing creative solutions that drive efficiency, scalability, and performance.

Our solution architect will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business development, sales and engineering to develop new data center technology solutions and support worldwide technology development projects.

This is the perfect position for a Senior Data Center Engineer to broaden their expertise and gain international experience through a remote, part-time, flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities

Interact directly with project team members and executives to identify, develop, design, qualify and research information for data center solutions that may include hardware, software, cloud, and network services.

Design solutions by gathering, documenting, and utilizing the best mix of vendor-partner products to create comprehensive technical proposals and/or customer specific requirements to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Effectively communicate the features, functions and benefits of project services and solutions to both business and technical users in an organization.

Demonstrate the capability to provide technology recommendations and solve customer business needs.

Execute the technical aspects of the project cycle, including development of Bills of Material, Service hours, Statements of Work and Visio drawings when appropriate.

Also includes the completion of technical sections for RFP/RFI/RFQ responses.
Manage and proactively communicate the status of deliverables and opportunities to the project team.
Using your technical expertise, support business development and strategy session with the executive team.
Follow industry technology trends through self-study, daily work activities and formal training and benefit project outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in vendor technologies.

Proven experience, preferably 8+ years as a Data Center Engineer or Solutions Architect, specifically focused on the design, implementation or O&M of enterprise data center solutions and cloud computing services.

Proficiency in designing or operating scalable architectures, aligning with industry best practices, security frameworks, and compliance standards.

Advanced knowledge of data center solutions including but not limited to, server and storage virtualization technologies, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, cloud and hybrid cloud platforms, data protection, security and compliance, and automation tools.

Knowledge or experience working with optical fiber network and related technologies.

Must be able to demonstrate both a technical competence and a proven track record of technical accomplishments in the technology field; must have a demonstrated ability to achieve results while operating independently with minimal guidance.

Self-motivated to develop and maintain skill set and product knowledge to improve value and to provide quality deliverables to our customers.

Preferred
Additional certifications or experience in a range of data center storage, server, and cloud platforms.
