    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer in Buffalo, Rochester, or Syracuse, NY offices to support our growing railroad practice. You will be part of a team working on projects from conception through final design and construction.

    This position offers diversified opportunities to work in the office on engineering design and in the field with construction inspection/administration.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with internal and external staff on individual and team basis.

    • Motivate and mentor junior staff.

    • Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

    • Manage smaller projects or assigned tasks as part of a larger overall project.

    • Work with team in Client relationship management and obtaining additional business opportunities.

    • Broaden knowledge base through self-challenge.

    • Proactive approach with incident anticipation.

    • Occasional travel (estimated 15%) may be required.

    • Implement safe work practices according to federal, state, local, and company standards.

    • Communicate incidents and safety concerns to supervisors or Health and Safety Department.

    Requirements

    • B.S. in Engineering; M.S. in related field (a plus).

    • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.).

    • 10+ years of railroad-related design and construction experience.

    • Experience with contract document preparation from bidding to award.

    • Knowledge of AREMA Manual for Railway Engineering.

    • Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation/InRoads, AutoDesk AutoCad/Civil 3D; experience with Bentley OpenRoads a plus.

    Benefits
