    ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE

    LOCATION:
    1930 Glenwood Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55405


    SALARY:
    $22.00 – 25.00 per hour


    TYPE:
    Part-Time Exempt (Salaried); 20 hours per week

    The CLCLT Accounting Associate will be an integral part of the CLCLT team using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to support the financial well-being of the organization.

    This position reports to the Finance Director. The physical demands required for this position are consistent with duties associated with work performed in an office setting.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Accounts Payable
    Initiate payment for bills, ensure proper account coding, supporting documentation, and supervisor approvals.
    Process disbursements using paper check and electronic methods bi-monthly with ad hoc disbursements.
    Assist with program expense reconciliations monthly.
    Maintain vendor records, contracts, and W-9 files.
    Issue year-end 1099 reporting.
    Accounts Receivable
    Assist with cash receipts and process deposits weekly and as needed.
    Support the CLCLT staff in preparing monthly and ad hoc invoices and reimbursement requests.
    Prepare quarterly Lease Fee statements.
    Maintain member records and contracts.
    Produce aged receivable reports and distribute reports to appropriate staff for review.
    Loan Administration
    Record cash receipts in DownHome loan servicing program.
    Prepare and distribute loan statements bi-monthly.
    Export loan activity to accounting software bi-monthly.
    Maintain borrower records and respond to borrower inquiries.
    Issue year-end 1098 reporting.
    Other Responsibilities
    Participate in a minimum of three CLCLT-sponsored special events per year.
    Perform other duties as assigned.
    EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS
    Minimum 3 years accounting experience, including experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
    Knowledge of accrual-based accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

    Excellent computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, strong Excel skills, database/CRM, and accounting software; QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, and DownHome Solutions experience desirable.

    Have experience working in the nonprofit sector.
    Some experience with grant and contract management.
    Ability to work independently and alongside team members as required to meet deadlines.
    Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
    Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
    Ability to travel as needed for work-related meetings and special events.
    Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for the purpose of assisting with special events.
    Candidates must be proactive, self-starting, and have a strong commitment to results.
    Working Conditions/Physical Effort

    This is an in-office position where work is normally performed during CLCLT's office hours of Monday through Friday, between 9am and 5pm CST.

    Requires frequent participation in repetitive activities including working for several hours at a time with a computer keyboard and monitor.

    Requires a combination of walking, sitting, standing, and ability to walk up/down one flight of stairs in an office setting.
