    McKenzie Electric Cooperative (MEC) is currently seeking qualified candidates for Compliance Manager.

    This full-time, benefited position will be responsible for the overall compliance, security, and Information Technology (IT) at MEC. The Compliance Manager establishes policies, procedures, document control, and planning and project execution. The selected candidate will support the mission of MEC and make our members first priority.

    Responsibilities

    include, but are not limited to, the following:
    Responsible for staying current and compliant with all regulations, including emerging trends.
    Oversees and manages all aspects of MEC compliance program. Works with engineering and operations departments to coordinate compliance inspections and corrective action.

    Provides oversight and direction for the information technology infrastructure for MEC, ensures protection and security of sensitive information, ultimate oversight for access control in both physical and cyber platforms.

    Ensures long term technology plan for MEC is in place, continually assessing existing infrastructure, future trends and threats, maintaining a high level of security and resiliency.

    Ensures appropriate measures are in place for critical or emergency response to threats or events, fosters relationships with appropriate emergency management resources.

    Oversees evaluation and implementation of contracted outside services and maintenance agreements for the compliance department.

    Works closely with Department Managers to ensure organization remains compliant, facilitates necessary training, leads change management process, assists with insurance governance as necessary and claim management.

    Owner of Asset Management Program and associated document management.

    This includes but is not limited to overall utilization of asset management, development of maintenance practices and procedures, necessary compliance activities, and communication of MEC asset health with respect to the Asset Management program at MEC.

    Conducts necessary stakeholder management and communication to keep senior leadership aware of MEC asset health.
    Develops SMART triggers for operational preventative maintenance tasks.

    Monitors industry trends with respect to asset management, employs continuous improvement to ensure MEC assets are functioning reliably at a low cost for MEC Members.

    Audits system for data integrity and relevancy of MEC program. Reports findings to Senior Leadership
    Develops and / or assists with maintenance practices and programs to maintain MEC assets.
    Works with Engineering and Operations to ensure all new builds are compliant with MEC's asset management program.

    Responsible for overseeing the warranty provisions and requirements of new substation assets to ensure MEC is receiving value of such provisions.

    Ensures MEC adheres to all necessary regulations including NERC. Completes all required reporting and audits.
    Develops and conducts necessary audits, including field audits, to ensure compliance with MEC programs.
    Responsible for overall security program (cyber and physical).

    Establishes mechanisms for continuous evaluation and assessments of MEC cyber infrastructure to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed and develops a comprehensive work plan to maintain a high level of security.

    Conducts necessary training, ensures all applicable procedures and policies are in place and current.
    Manages MEC Environmental Compliance and Regulations such as Avian Protection, PCB, HAZCOM/HAZWAPPER, and SPCC.
    Communicates and coordinates with necessary agencies, suppliers, and organizations related to MEC compliance.
    Responsible for developing and managing departmental budget, execution of necessary projects, and

    coordination/management

    of necessary contractors.

    Established reporting structure to adequately keep MEC Board of Directors and Management current on the overall Compliance at MEC and industry trends as it relates to the Compliance and Asset Management Program at MEC.

    Other duties as assigned.


    Education/Experience:


    Associate degree required, with Bachelor's degree in an applicable field preferred; five years' experience in a security or compliance position at a utility or rural electric cooperative and three years of experience in a supervisor or management role required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Utility compliance regulations and cyber security experience is a plus.


    Compensation:
    Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
