POSITION SUMMARYPosition Summary:

The medical lab technician performs a variety of laboratory tests, procedures and related duties, in order to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, by following established standards and practices.

Includes issue resolution in the pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases. The medical lab technician is responsible for the orderly processing of patient specimens during the assigned work shift. This includes specimen collection, testing, processing, and reporting of accurate results.

The technologist maintains active communication and strengthens collaborative relationships among the clinic medical and nursing staff, and other lab staff.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONSMinimum EducationAssociates degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or related fieldMinimum ExperienceRequired clinical internship in an MLT approved programRequired Registration/License/CertificationMLT(ASCP or equivalent) OR registry eligible
