- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs monitoring, physical examinations, and gathering medical histories.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare team members.
- Administer medications (oral, intravenous, and others) following strict protocols and ensuring patient safety.
- Perform a variety of nursing interventions, such as wound care, pain management, IV therapy, and monitoring vital signs.
- Educate patients and their families on their condition, treatment plan, and self-care management.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and concisely in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Monitor and interpret patient data to identify potential changes in condition and communicate effectively with physicians.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients, ensuring comfort and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, social workers) to deliver coordinated care.
- Contribute to a positive and efficient unit environment by participating in huddles, handoffs, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Active RN license in the state of Washington.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- 2 or more years prior experience in an observation unit, emergency department, or similar acute care setting is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of adult medical-surgical conditions and their treatment protocols.
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work effectively under pressure, and manage time efficiently.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature with a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Strong work ethic, dedication to quality care, and a commitment to professional growth.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) AND Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are required.
- Experience in a fast-paced, acute care environment.
