    About the Role


    The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - Industry 4.0/Digital Transformation will support the development and implementation of automation projects and digitalization initiatives in Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting divisions.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Develop Statement of Work for automation projects.
    • Lead automation projects from concept through implementation.
    • Monitor suppliers and internal stakeholders during project development.
    • Conduct Proof of concept projects of automation projects to validate new technology and applications.
    • Receive and provide training to manufacturing engineering teams related to digitalization.
    • Capture and validate best practices in automation and digitalization tools across MML divisions.
    • Identify and select project priorities according to group strategy.
    • Support creation of technical guidelines for automation / digitalization projects.
    • Ensure Lean and MAFACT principles are in being followed when implementing automation projects.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.
    • Act with honesty and integrity and make ethical business choices in accordance with Magna's Compliance Policies and Procedures.
    • Upholds the principles of the Magna Employee's Charter, Magna's Operational Principles, Magna's Environmental Health and Safety Policy & Procedures, MML Quality Policy, Program Execution Process and Business Protocols. Must understand and respect the laws and cultures in countries which Magna conducts business & Magna compliances.
    Your preferred qualifications


    EDUCATION:

    • College Diploma / University Degree in designated area
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

    • Experience 7+ years in manufacturing / automation engineering.
    • Must be experienced in reading mechanical, system and layout drawings.
    • Experience in creating drawings in AutoCAD
    • Understanding PLC programming, networking protocols and technologies
    • Experience in Robot programming basics (ABB, Fanuc etc.).
    • Time and project management skills, with the capability to prioritize and multitask as needed
    • Knowledge of different project management methodologies
    • Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication skills required.
    • Demonstrated excellent leadership skills required
