    Job DescriptionSalary:

    We are seeking an upbeat and ambitious individual to serve as the Patient Care Coordinator for our growing call center in an established Ophthalmology practice. As the acting Patient Care Coordinator your primary responsibilities include, answering all incoming phone calls, scheduling appointments, checking referrals, verifying insurance eligibility and answering all other patient questions. We are looking for an individual that takes pride in ensuring top quality service to our patients as customer satisfaction is our top priority. Our Medical Call Center Specialist should be efficient and well-spoken with experience in a call center environment.     **Ability to speak Spanish is required **

    Please note, this will be a temporary to permanent position, with a day introductory period.

    Essential Job Responsibilities:

    • Answer all incoming phone calls in a friendly demeanor
    • Answer all patient queries to ensure complete customer satisfaction
    • Schedule/reschedule/cancel appointments.
    • Call patients to remind them of upcoming appointments.
    • Receive and maintain all necessary patient files as well as make sure they are organized/up to date.
    • Obtain insurance information and verify insurance eligibility.
    • Responsible for checking referrals
    • Maintain a cleanly/organized work space Make sure all new patients are given the necessary paperwork upon arrival
    • Performs all other related duties as needed by providers and supervisors.
    • Maintain friendly and professional relationships with physicians, office and clinical staff.
    • Adhere to policies and procedures during all activities.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Customer Service Oriented
    • Ability to handle a high volume of calls
    • Friendly demeanor
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required
    • Experience with EHR systems/ practice management systems preferred
    • Experience with complex multi phone software preferred
    • Able to handle fast paced and changing environment. Must have the ability to navigate between multiple computer systems and/or systems
    • Bilingual preferred but not required

    Schedule

    • M-F 8:00am-4:30pm, 8:30-5:00pm OR 9:5:30pm

    Schedule:

    • 8 hour shift

    Experience:

    • Call center: 1 year (Preferred)
    • Spanish: Required
