    All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire.

    Job Description:


    This is inspection related work enforcing compliance with City Codes and Ordinances regulating businesses and occupations, residential and commercial structures, environmental nuisances within an assigned inspection district.

    Will work independently on field inspections and must make decisions that require independent judgement in accordance with City Ordinances and the internal policies and procedures of the Property Maintenance Compliance Division.

    Will be required to maintain a reasonable case load as well as all records related to each individual case. Cases may be tried in court or in front of an Administrative Hearing Officer.

    Work is performed under the general supervision of an Inspection Supervisor who reviews work through conferences, reports, observation, and results obtained.

    This role is for an already established and experienced Inspector. The Sr. Property Maintenance Inspector (Team Leader) is one of three assigned to the Property Maintenance Compliance Division.

    One is permanently assigned to a District located in one of each separate region of the city (Northeast, South, and West).

    This Inspector will be assigned to and responsible for a group of District Inspectors who each work in a separate district located in the same region of the city.


    Qualifications:
    High School Diploma/GED or equivalent or any combination of education and experience. Experience in customer service is preferred. Must possess a valid Driver's License with no moving violations within three years. License number is required at the time of application. License check will be conducted. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written. Experience in enforcing building, zoning, property maintenance, and/or and similarly related codes. ICC Certification (Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector) required within the 12 months of hire.


    Salary Range:
    $ $32.62/hr.
