    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    Jr Accountant (Accounts Payable) will support the AP management team in the daily operations of the Accounting department and participate in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closings.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Review invoices and vouchers to ensure satisfactory approval
    • Contact employees for proper back-up documentation for payments, clarifying questionable invoice items, prices or obtaining approval signatures
    • Ensure expenses are accurately charged to appropriate cost centers and GL accounts
    • Work directly with Budget and other departments to address and resolve any classification/allocation discrepancies identified with payment vouchers
    • Prepare AP payments and execute check runs
    • Conduct month-end AP close
    • Analyze and reconcile the accounts payable account on a monthly basis
    • Assist in the monthly/quarterly financial closings by reconciling and preparing journal entries for accruals and reversals, intercompany transactions, and management fees
    • Conduct quarterly analysis of expense, asset and liability accounts, identifying and adjusting/correcting discrepancies as needed
    • Provide support for the year-end accrual process
    • Conduct through reviews and processing of 1099
    • Take ownership of vendor relationships and internal business partners
    • Respond to inquiries regarding payment voucher status
    • Other duties and projects as assigned
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 1-2 years of Accounting experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in Accounting/Finance principles
    • Detail-orientated with strong quantitative and analytical skills
    • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
    • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent customer service skills and work ethic
    • Must be a New York City resident within 180 days of hire
    Salary Range

    $62,400-$64,400 USD
