Overview

Physical Therapist Assistant

As our Physical Therapist Assistant, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you'll help assist our therapist in providiing servicers to help patients improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities.

Joseph Health includes a comprehensive network of over 100 employed providers including primary care physicians specialists and advanced practice clinicians.

The network includes more than 20 ambulatory clinics featuring primary care a freestanding Emergency Room Express Clinics and imaging and diagnostic services.

Position Summary

Performs components of physical therapy procedures and related tasks selected by a supervising physical therapist; assist physical therapists in providing services that help improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease.

This position is classified as PRN, with a fixed hourly rate of $28.00/hr. The schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with alternating weekends and major holidays.

Responsibilities

Administers therapeutic exercises and physical therapy modalities according to the physical therapy plan of care

Instructs, motivates and Assists patients to learn and improve functional activity, such as pre-ambulation, transfer, ambulation and daily living activities

Observes patients during treatments, Assesses, and compiles data on patients' responses to treatments and progress and reports verbally or in writing to the physical therapist; may communicate updates to physicians

Fit patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, walkers and wheelchairs

Qualifications

Associate's Degree from an approved program for Physical Therapist Assistants

Current Texas State Licensure (PTA)

American Heart Association CPR/BLS certification

Graduates eligible for licensure will be considered

Pay Range
