    POSITION SUMMARY:


    Nakoda Aaniiih Economic Development Corporation (NAEDC) is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as Program Coordinator for the diverse programs: Tourism, Language Revitalization, Food Sovereignty and Youth Leadership for this nonprofit organization.

    KEY RESPONSIBLITIES :

    • Assist the Executive Director with NAEDC's efforts to build and maintain strong and effective working relationships with federal, state and local governments, the Fort Belknap communities, program partners, and area citizens.
    • Engage partner organization through communication and networking and lead volunteer programs.
    • Lead hands on projects that benefit the Fort Belknap Indian communities, while engaging partners in collaborative planning and coordination, to effectively coordinate Tourism, Food Sovereignty, Language Revitalization and Youth Leadership programs and other volunteer projects, such as Indigenous Youth Empowerment (IYE) and other community events, projects, etc.
    • Lead the successful partnership building, effective planning, and project development for a suite of projects throughout the year including organizing meetings, maintaining familiarity with current programs and collaborations, identifying new funding opportunities and beneficial partnerships, and overseeing volunteer programs focused on educating and engaging our partners and the public in opportunities to promote a thriving cultural, sustainable economy on the Fort Belknap reservation.
    • The PC will directly plan, lead, and oversee volunteers during our program projects, events and other collaborations to meet each program's goals and direction.
    • In addition, the PC may assist in other activities to support our program implementation, education and outreach, growing the non-profit and our programs, and supporting our mission.
    • The position will require some evening and/or weekend work, as well as some outdoor work in all seasons/weather.

    REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

    • The Program Coordinator (PC) must have integrity, high energy, and the initiative to shape the future of NAEDC.
    • Possess strong leadership qualities, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong networking and collaboration skills, and knowledge of indigenous community issues.
    • While the candidate's strongest skills should be in leading volunteers and working with broad partnerships, the incumbent should also have knowledge on a broad range of community building projects.
    • Proven ability to work self-directed and as a team member, motivating volunteers and committee members, managing detailed projects and schedules, creating and implementing strong volunteer opportunities, and communicating effectively with a broad range of audiences.
    • The PC will be an integral member of a small, but dedicated team at NAEDC.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Experience with leading volunteer programs, working with project partners, and/or other agency partners, speaking with the public and other audiences, and/or volunteer experience is desirable.
    • Significant relevant experience and/or a combination of some college and relevant experience would be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree; however, candidates currently enrolled in college should be able to demonstrate the ability and interest in working the desired number of hours during our peak times and an interest in growing with the position over the longer term. Proficiency in MS Office software and shared documents programs (i.e. Google documents, Dropbox, Zoom, DocuSign, Adobe, etc) are preferred but not required.

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor's Degree related in communications, multimedia, public relations, journalism or related field, but with strong, demonstrated written and oral communications skills.
    POSITION TYPE / HOURS OF WORK

    • This full-time, hourly, non-exempt position
    • average of 40 hours per week depending on NAEDC activities and deadlines with the expectation that those hours may vary.
    • The hours and workload may grow as more funding is secured in the future.
    • The hours may vary slightly from week to week but can be relatively consistent and generally scheduled ahead of time.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS :

    • Travel will be required for Professional Development, conferences, trainings, and meetings as a representative of NAEDC.
    • Travel to/from NAEDC locations required.
    • Valid Driver's License

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift-up to 45 pounds at times.
    • Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
