    Job Description


    Centra Specialty Hospital is a 36-bed, long-term, acute care hospital that provides comprehensive care and rehabilitation for patients with multiple medical problems such as trauma, ventilator dependency and complex wound management.

    The TEAM LEAD SHIFT NURSING CSH works in collaboration with the Unit Manager to oversee the daily functions of the staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs, HUCS, and Monitor Technicians).


    Responsibilities

    Performs mid-year and end of year evaluations under the supervision of the Unit Manager.

    Assist the Unit Manager by performing iRounds & room audits to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.

    Oversees the daily staffing needs of the unit and adjust the schedule accordingly.

    Perform charge nurse duties when working that day/night.

    Minor disciplinary actions under the supervision of the Unit Manager

    May help resolve minor patient/family complaints


    Meet with Unit Manager and Unit Manager Assistant every other month or as needed to discuss issues related to quality, safety, etc.

    May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specification can be modified or updated at any time.


    Qualifications


    Required Education:
    Bachelors Degree

    Required Experience: 2 years of acute care clinical experience and 1 year of charge nurse experience

    Required Certifications and Licensures:
    Hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse

    Preferred Certifications and Licensures:
    Certification in specialty or nursing leadership


    Effective April 1, 2024, candidates seeking employment in this role at Centra must possess a valid and current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS Provider or AHA BLS Instructor) course completion card.

    Proof of certification will be mandatory prior to commencing employment. Both AHA and RQI cards are acceptable forms of certification.
