    Seda North America is looking for an on-site Quality Materials Engineer


    to support manufacturing operations as an analytical driven lab technician who will be responsible for supporting our laboratory activities, incoming inspection, and supplier quality program with the primary goal of optimizing lab procedures and succeeding in producing reliable test results.

    The ideal Candidate is


    a self-starter, able to research and resolve issues, multi-task, and well organized, developing, recommending, and implementing enhancements to the quality management system to improve product and process quality.

    Specific Duties
    Manage the collection and submission of supplier quality claims. Partner with internal stakeholders to understand process or material failures and work towards solutions with suppliers.
    Performing regular quality control audits to ensure vendors continue to work in compliance with company and federal standards.
    Reviewing incoming supplies and products from vendors to check for defects and ensure quality.
    Conducting tests and assessments on products to identify quality issues
    Maintaining detailed reports on supplier quality, including defect rates and areas that result in flaws
    Providing technical advice and guidance to suppliers to reduce defect rates.

    Serving as a liaison between our company's senior management and the vendors to identify quality issues and come up with solutions.

    Provide analytical support utilizing problem solving techniques to obtain potential root causes.
    Perform routine and non-routine tests and analyses using the appropriate technical equipment and instruments.
    Receive or collect, as well as process, samples. This applies to primary raw materials but not limited to resins, paperboard, food grade film, corrugates.
    Calculate test results, and log and report results using a computer and various data storage systems.
    Develop, complete, and provide result of experiments as required.
    Prepare reports to communicate results of materials performance and non-conformances. Maintain open communication with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
    Perform monthly Environmental Testing, ensure submission and revision of the results and any further action needed.
    Assist other departments with non- routine testing required for the development and continues improvement processes.
    Manage laboratory duties such as chemical and equipment inventory, chemical solutions preparation, and distribution.
    Coordinate and control annual equipment calibration program with external supplier.
    Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area.
    Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned, including assisting other personnel when needed.
    Prioritize work and meet deadlines as required. Communicate with Management and escalate if deadlines are not achievable.
    Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.

    Skill Requirements:
    Bachelor's Degree desired, preferably in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or other closely related Technical Field).
    Preferring 4+ years Manufacturing experience; packaging in food or foodservice experience is a plus
    Experience in quality demonstrating leadership and a fundamental understanding of customer satisfaction. Quality Six Sigma training preferred but not required.
    Ability to read and interpret documents such as FSSC and ISO codes, ASTM, safety rules, operating procedures, and manuals.
    Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    The Job will require the person to have, or be capable of acquiring a working knowledge of:

    H.A.C.C.P (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points)

    Understanding of relational database concepts and experience with analytical tools such as Access, Excel, Minitab, or others
    Comfortable working with Microsoft Office suite (ex: Word, Power Point)
    SAP (or other ERP) experiences a plus
    Proven analytic & problem-solving skills with a demonstrated focus on leveraging and expanding
    Self-starter and team player, ability to manage multiple projects and areas of responsibility.
    Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
    Creative, practical, and innovative abilities are preferred.
    Highly organized and detail oriented with Project Management experience a plus
    Strong interpersonal skills and needs to interact within cross functional teams
    Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
    Standard computer packages e.g. Excel/Word/Outlook
