    SUMMARY: Forest Electric Corp. has a need for a Safety Coordinator in its New York City office. This position will be in charge of overseeing labor manpower reporting and to implement and oversee various aspects of the company's workplace safety. Some responsibilities will be to ensure that the company is in compliance with and adheres to Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Interact daily with field workforce
    • Responsible for processing and maintaining all site incident reports and screening reports
    • Responsible for reviewing and maintaining various of safety documentation and safety credentials
    • Responsible for distributing and recording tool box talks
    • Develop and become competent in safety reporting and accident investigation capabilities
    • Ability to complete OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety and Health Training within a reasonable period of time following commencement of employment
    • Develop and become competent in reviewing and understanding industry standards and recognize deficiencies
    • Assist with interpreting and applying safety guidelines
    • Assist with overseeing the procurement of project safety supplies and equipment
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally required to visit field locations
    • Effectively communicate with superintendents on manpower loads
    • Back up for other administrative members in the department
    • Organize furloughs taken by field workforce and accurately track furloughs
    • Create and review overtime reports
    • Review and handle new hire paperwork
    • Interact with payroll department as needed
    • Other administrative tasks and safety duties as assigned
    • Regular, predictable and reliable onsite attendance is an essential function of the job
    • Work hours to be 7:00AM to 3:00PM, however we reserve the right in the future to change these work hours

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • 5 years administrative experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
    • Ability to excel in a fast paced multi-task environment
    • Must demonstrate an attention to detail

    Compensation Range: $65,000 - $75,000
