- The Allina Health Cancer Institute Oncology Genetic Counseling Support Assistant (GCSA) will be an integral member of the AHCI Genetic Counseling Team.
- Work may be a combination of in clinic time at any of the AHCI Twin Cities Metro Sites and remote/virtual time.
- Monday thruogh Friday day shift schedule with no weekend rotation
- Benefit eligible role.
- Manage medical records of patients.
- Collaborate effectively and appropriately with inside/outside referral sources to assure timely completion of chart compilation including but not limited to documents, imaging, and pathology.
- Provide outside facilities and clinics with pertinent health information requested in a timely fashion according to HIPAA regulations.
- Perform clerical duties within the department.
- Respond and process phone/verbal/email requests in a professional and timely manner, ensuring that all are complete.
- Provide excellent, quality customer service.
- Prepare examination rooms for procedure.
- Stock supplies.
- Assist in clinical areas.
- Maintain inventory of supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description, and High school diploma or GED preferred
- 0 to 2 years Excellian/Epic experience preferred
- 0 to 2 years Medical, clinical or hospital clerical/office experience preferred
- 0 to 2 years Medical terminology preferred

Job Summary:
The Clinical Support Assistant provides support to providers and the care teams by performing routine administrative and clinical tasks.
Key Position Details:
tracking and facilitating patient personal and family history intake including creation of pedigrees; chart preparation; providing patients with introductions to genetic counseling and genetic testing; coordinating, tracking and follow up of test results; triaging patient and other medical professional phone calls; and participation in other educational and administrative projects.
Attention to detail, self motivation, clear communication and a strong desire to learn more about Oncology Genetic Counseling are imperative.
