    Industrial Engineer/ Principal Industrial Engineer

    to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in

    Palmdale, CA.


    The Industrial Engineering Team is an integral part of day to day operations and routinely works alongside many of the other organizations here in Palmdale.

    This is a team that comes together to learn, collaborate, and overcome challenges in a fast paced environment. We are looking for applicants that enjoy working with and learning from their peers and are not afraid to jump in and make a difference

    Responsibilities will include:
    Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently

    Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints

    Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints

    Incorporates complex interdependencies within a system to account for the interaction of multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools

    Communicates requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams

    Works with developers to design an interactive user interface that will be effective at scheduling jobs across cost centers

    Guides digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies

    Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies

    Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance

    Basic Qualifications for Industrial Engineer:


    Bachelor's Degree with 2 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master's Degree with 0 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience.

    Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and agility to obtain Program access.

    MRP/MES experience.

    Strong expertise using excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables.

    Experience with data mining, data analysis, or data visualization software applications.

    Ability to travel at least 10% of the time.

    Basic Qualifications for

    Principal Industrial Engineer:


    Bachelor's Degree with 4 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master's Degree with 2 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience.

    Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and agility to obtain Program access.

    MRP/MES experience.

    Strong expertise using excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables.

    Experience with data mining, data analysis, or data visualization software applications.

    Ability to travel at least 10% of the time.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.

    Experience in an aerospace environment.

    STEM Degree Preferred

    Active in-scope DOD Secret security clearance that has been granted / renewed within the past 5 years.

    At least 2 years of demonstrated experience leading project teams.

    Experience with SQL, Python, HTML, VBA, JavaScript, or other programming languages.

    Experience with Lean Six Sigma and improving manufacturing workflow using optimization, modeling, or simulation methods.

    Familiarity with mixed model manufacturing operations.

    Experience with Microsoft Project, to include building schedules with predecessors and resources.

    Experience with agile methods of project management or development.

    Strong experience designing visualizations in Tableau in a professional work environment.


    Salary Range:
    $79,300 - $118,900


    Salary Range 2:
    $97,500 - $146,300


    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

    In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
