RN Position Job Notes:
Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for
ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

Work in a 40-bed cardiac surgery stepdown unit (4Heart, Cardiovascular Progressive Care)
Handle primary patient population including CV surgery, vascular surgery, open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR), thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy), esophagogastrectomy, AAA procedures, fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomies
Care for overflow medical cardiology patients with heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block
Maintain 1:5 patient ratio per RN
Work with Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts using Cerner EMR system
Perform typical procedures including epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV gluccomander, and cardiac drip management (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine)

Required certifications:
ACLS and BLS

Must have stepdown and telemetry experience
Preferred experience with CV surgery and vascular surgery population within past year, plus CVICU experience
Float to any stepdown units (1:5 ratios), medical/surgical units (1:6-7 ratios), or ER inpatient holding area (1:6)

Dress code:
All navy scrubs, white tops with navy bottoms, or all white scrubs

No on-call requirements
Minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) per 6-week schedule period
Must be flexible to work holidays
