- The Spiritual Care Coordinator collaborates with the manager and/or director of spiritual care, hospital leadership, chaplain team, and other team members to ensure that their areas of responsibility maintain the high standards of the Spiritual Care department.
- The coordinator assumes advanced responsibilities for the organization of their designated areas in collaboration with the manager and director. The coordinator seeks to ensure that patient care is prioritized.
- The coordinator attends hospital and/or departmental huddle, first focus or other meetings, as designated, on behalf of the department, to ensure that regulatory standards for the area/department are maintained.
- Spiritual Care Coordinators may assume responsibility for assisting in scheduling of chaplain coverage as directed.
- The coordinator may assume management of volunteer coordination and student coordination/mentoring/orientation for their area/hospital.
- Coordinator must be Board-Certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or Neshma Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC).
- An Ecclesiastical or Faith Group Endorsement is required.
- 1600 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education is Required.
