    Job Summary

    The Medical Assistant I/II/III role provides supportive patient care functions for assigned clinical areas, under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse. The position ensures the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational, and professional standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide patient care support functions in assigned clinical areas
    • Ensure patient safety and comfort according to legal, organizational, and professional standards
    • Perform administrative tasks as delegated by Physicians or RNs

    Requirements

    Education

    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school preferred

    Experience

    • MA I: Entry-level role with no experience required (Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant within 90 days)
    • MA II: 5 years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant
    • MA III: 8 years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant

    Certifications/Licenses

    • MA I: BLS through American Heart Association required
    • MA II/III: BLS certified through American Heart Association required

    Skills

    • Basic Medical/Nursing terminology
    • Computer experience
    • Windows-based computer skills preferred
    • EPIC experience preferred
