Description

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Piping)

Location: Decatur, IL

Job Description:

Review piping design deliverables including layout, ISO drawings, BOM, design basis, engineering information, specification sheets, and technical recommendations.
Coordinate with offshore design teams, clients, vendors, contractors to ensure all design deliverables meet customer expectations.
Support construction teams by providing technical guidance as needed.
Manage project planning and resources, ensuring team utilization.
Understand project scope with customers and engage stakeholders for project execution.
Take responsibility for engineering activities related to new product development, maintenance, and derivatives of existing machines.
Provide technical support for mechanical construction activities end-to-end.
Document construction-related issues and prepare action plans for resolution.
Align vendor tasks to ensure defect-free machine installation.
Apply broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering, making independent decisions within the discipline.
Represent the discipline to resolve technical questions with clients and coordinate work as needed.
Prepare and oversee work plans according to project scope, schedule, and budget.
Review and approve key engineering drawings, calculations, and bid summaries.
Facilitate technical discussions with third parties and coordinate with client representatives for approval of drawings/documents.
Possess design and project knowledge on process piping, with expertise in key standards like ASME B31.3 and BPE.
Have experience in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), or pharmaceutical industries.
Proficient in 2D AutoCAD.
Act as the site Single Point of Contact (SPOC) to schedule project calls with clients.
Coordinate with offshore teams on design deliverables.
Collaborate with clients, vendors, and construction teams to provide input to offshore teams.
Prepare markups and review design documents sent from offshore.
Deliver design packages to customers.
Provide support to construction teams regarding technical queries and clarifications.
