    With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

    This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Central Office, 2414 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201.


    As the LPN for Community Residential Care Facilities (CRCF), working under minimal supervision of DMH CRCFs Program Manager provide nursing services to patients at the 7 DMH CRCFs.


    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Provide nursing service to DMH CRCF residents to include medication monitoring, reviewing MAR. educating residence and staff on medications, to include in person visits to the DMH CRCFs with agreed upon scheduling times.
    • Assures overall continued coordination of services for the residents at 7 DMH CRCFs.
    • Ensures residents and staff are educated on medication purpose, side effects and general medication education.
    Minimum and Additional Requirements


    Successful completion of an approved nursing education program for professional nursing or an equivalent course of study from an approved nursing education program per Section of the South Carolina Nurse Licensure Act.

    Must be licensed by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing (LLR) as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

    Additional Comments


    The selected candidate must have knowledge of techniques and practices of the nursing profession, psychiatric theory and health care delivery.

    Knowledge of medical and psychiatric terminology. Ability to monitor and administer medications. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Travel may be required. The selected candidate must be able to drive a state vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
