    PDS Tech Commercial, Inc.

    is recruiting for a looking for a Senior Packaging Engineer with a wealth of secondary packaging experience to ensure the appropriate selection of equipment technologies to fulfill the requirements of Packing Line 3 product in-house.


    Position:
    Senior Packaging Engineer

    Pay:
    $
    Contract Duration: 1.5 year with the possibility of extension or direct hire (based on performance and business needs)

    Shift:
    Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm.

    As a Senior Packaging Engineer, you will plan, conduct, and coordinate packaging process engineering functions covering all aspects of packaging equipment from primary packaging through secondary packaging and process unit operations as applied in the production of wet and dry pet foods, pet treats and cat litter.

    You are an expert in all aspects of food processing technology in terms of production systems, quality/sanitation, equipment design and application.

    Provide packaging engineering process design and review for capital projects including detailed phases of the engineering work, related documentation and field support.

    Support divisional continuous improvement efforts and technical assistance to operating facilities, including investigation and analysis of problem areas and opportunities for packaging and process enhancements.

    Apply expert understanding of line balancing, equipment specification, vendor coordination, factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing.
    Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field.

    OHSA, Project Management (e.g. PMP/PMI), LEAN Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement (e.g. 5+ years of packaging equipment engineering experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment.
    ~ Strong experience in secondary packaging to ensure the appropriate selection of equipment technologies to fulfill the requirements of Packing Line 3 product in-house.
    ~ Must have hands on experience and can demonstrate to work in the field.

    Proficient in Project Portfolio Management tools (PPM e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project), Layout software (e.g. AutoCAD, PackML), Process Flow (e.g. 0-30% Travel to equipment suppliers and construction sites for field data gathering, scope development, project reviews, and system FAT.
    ~ 00 per hour
