- Communicate with school and community college counselors, WCU counselors, WCU faculty and staff, prospective students and students' parents to promote Western's attributes and to counsel students as to the possibility of admittance to the University.
- Manage a recruitment territory to maintain contact with community college counselors and students.
- Plan special events, particularly those that relate to transfer recruitment.
- Prepare and present public and interpersonal presentations to varied audiences to promote the university and higher education.
- Review, determine eligibility and make decisions on applicants for admission.
- Prepare appropriate written responses regarding admission, referral or denial of the applicants' application. Adhere to all FERPA guidelines when speaking with prospective students and students' parents.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of university, UNC General Administration, state and federal education programs and policies.
- Represent the Office of Admission on special committees, projects, or events.
