    As the Benefits & Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs across the organization.

    This role requires a deep understanding of benefits regulations, benefits plan design, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with employees and vendors to ensure the successful management of our benefits offerings.

    This individual is also responsible for overseeing the payroll team.

    Key Responsibilities:


    Develop and oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including 401(k), health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and other associated programs.

    Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations governing employee benefits, including ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA.

    Evaluate and recommend changes to benefits programs to remain competitive in the market and align with the organization's goals and budget.

    Serve as Primary HR contact for vendors including benefits advocacy, 401k, leave/disability management, worker's compensation, etc.
    Manage the administration of employee leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, state-mandated leaves, and company-specific leave policies.
    Work with health insurance broker to advise, manage and coordinate employee's annual benefits selections.
    Prepare and submit required filings and reports, such as Form 5500, Summary Annual Reports (SARs), and IRS filings.
    Keep abreast of changes in benefits regulations and assess their impact on the organization's benefits programs.
    Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and high-quality service delivery.
    Conduct Benefit Orientations for new hires and facilitate Annual / Open Enrollment sessions for existing employees.
    Provide guidance and assistance to employees on benefits-related inquiries and issues.
    Ensure all benefit invoices are audited and timely paid.

    Serve as 401(k) plan administrator in daily plan operation and part of the committee to review investment selections and plan changes.

    Be the liaison between the auditors, third-party administrator, and financial advisor during the 401(k) audit and Form 5500 filing.
    Manage the administration of employee leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, state-mandated leaves, and company-specific leave policies.

    Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave requests, providing guidance on eligibility, documentation requirements, and available resources.

    Maintain accurate leave records and documentation, including tracking leave balances and ensuring timely return-to-work processes.
    Coordinate with HR team members, managers, and employees to ensure compliance with leave policies and regulations.
    Oversee the payroll team to ensure accurate and proper payment of wages are processed in ADP Workforce Now.
    Prepare and submit required filings and reports, such asEEO-1, Form 5500, and IRS filings.
    Provide guidance and training to the HR team on benefits, 401(k), leaves programs.

    Key Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

    5+ years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR role, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.

    Experience with benefits plan design, implementation, and vendor management.
    Strong knowledge of employee benefits regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex benefits concepts to employees at all levels.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
    Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
    Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designation is a plus.
    Vendor management exposure and/or experience
    ADP Workforce Now (Payroll, Benefits & HRIS platforms) experience preferred.


    The anticipated annual salary range is $115,000 - $130,000 This range denotes only the pay range of the base salary and does not include discretionary bonus compensation, which may make up an important portion of the total remuneration.

    The listed range reflects the base salary Solaris Paper reasonably expects to pay for this position and is not a reflection of the highest and lowest base salary of any Solaris employee.

    Actual base salary will be based on factors such as the candidate's prior relevant experience, education, skills and knowledge .
