    Job Title:
    Front Office Clerk -Full-Time or PT 4 days a week (No Weekends) Can also be CMA



    Reports To:
    Nurse Manager


    FLSA Status:
    Non-Exempt

    Medent experience preferred.

    Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    • Responsible for all clerical duties, including verifying demographic information; collecting copayments and balances due; and utilizing the computer system to notify providers of patient arrival. Distribute appointment-specific forms to be completed and enter or update patient data as needed.
    • Balance payments received for the shift worked,
    • Maintains a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor.
    • Greets Patients.
    • Responsible for check-in and check-out duties.
    • Answers incoming telephone calls.
    7 . Schedule appointments.


    • Direct incoming calls to appropriate areas.
    • Distributes faxes.
    • Follows all safety and security procedures and identifies circumstances that put patients, families, staff, or guests at risk of experiencing accidents or injury. Follow through to report and or resolve unsafe conditions.
    These factors could include, but are not limited to the following:


    • Substance abuse
    • Behavior disorders
    • Side effects of medications
    • Physical impairments
    • Wet floors, spills, uneven floor coverings, etc
    • Faulty equipment
    • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and expectations related to emergency
    codes and procedures to implement in the event of a medical emergency, violence, fire, disaster, or severe weather.


    • Uses equipment and materials properly.
    • Responsible for documenting patient communications in patients' medical records.
    • Performs all other duties as needed and assigned.

    Education/Experience:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



    Language Ability:
    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.


    Math Ability:
    Ability to add & subtract.


    Reasoning Ability:
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


    Computer Skills:
    To perform this job successfully, an individual should know about Microsoft Word and EMR systems.
