    Goshen Valley Boys Ranch, a division of Goshen Valley Foundation, is looking for a Summer CREW Youth Supervisor to work at our 160-acre campus located in northern Cherokee County which is home to about 40 young men in foster care. This is a temporary position (June 1-July 31).

    The CREW Youth Supervisor will be expected to complete daily tasks which include but are not limited to: Landscaping and trail work, furniture and asset relocation, basic facility maintenance, basic vehicle maintenance, warehouse organization, basic janitorial maintenance, coaching and mentoring youth, addressing youth behaviors, transporting youth to jobsites, and basic first aid.

    The CREW Youth Supervisor will be responsible for managing a "crew" of 4-6 young men in foster care ages 15-17 as a part of the CREW summer program at Goshen Valley Boys Ranch.

    • Is responsible for seeking opportunities to engage the youth under their supervision for mentorship and life skills coaching.
    • Meet with CREW Director to review daily tasks, organizing CREW and directly supervising completion of assigned tasks, transporting CREW to and from work locations, cooperating with other youth supervisors in planning activities and training opportunities for youth in CREW program.
    • Responsible for tracking materials and equipment needed to complete tasks.
    • Expected to monitor/manage youth behaviors as needed, developing mentorship opportunities with youth to instill core values and life skills necessary to being a responsible young man.
    In addition, the right CREW Youth Supervisor will be flexible/adaptable, have a strong work ethic, and exhibit the quality of character to mentor young men from troubled backgrounds.

    Requirements

    CREW Youth Supervisor will need:
    • Minimum of High School diploma or GED.
    • Two or more years of experience preferred in general maintenance, general repairs, and lawn care experience.
    • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide moral, ethical, and spiritual leadership that coincides with the program and policies of GVF.
    • Must be able to pass a drug and background screen, possess a valid driver's license, and be insurable by GVF insurance carrier.
    Salary Description

    $15/hr
