    Our Plant Quality team leads on key strategic and process initiatives to strengthen our standards even further and ensure we maintain key accreditations.

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Manager to join our team.

    The Quality Manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our quality management systems and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

    This individual will play a critical role in ensuring that our products and services meet the highest quality standards and exceed customer expectations.


    Key responsibilities:
    Quality Assurance1. Develop and implement quality management systems and processes to identify, track, and resolve quality issues within the plant process.2.

    Establish quality control processes and procedures to monitor the performance and reliability of our products and services for our customers.3.

    Conduct regular quality inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address any deficiencies.4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as production, engineering, and customer service, to develop and maintain quality standards and guidelines.5. Design and implement quality control training programs to ensure that all employees adhere to quality standards and procedures.6.

    Analyse quality data to identify trends and patterns and recommend and implement process improvements to enhance overall quality and efficiency.7.

    Investigate customer complaints and drive root cause analysis to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.8. Manage and maintain quality documentation, including quality manuals, procedures, and work instructions.9.

    Stay abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes and ensure that our quality systems comply with relevant standards and regulations.10.

    Provide regular reports on the performance of the quality management systems and communicate any areas of concern or improvement opportunities to management.11.

    Maintain compliance with company practices Periodic testing, Recalls, Round Robin testing, and trials related to Citric Acid. 12.

    Follow up and aid in supplier verifications and audits of suppliers when necessary for compliance with the supplier management program.13.

    Support corporate quality with SOP development and review of company documents.14. Facilitate and support the utilization of the Gensuite application within the quality team.15. Manage and maintain customer relationships with additional product testing, sample shipments, and results. Including customer visit and audits to the site.16. Maintain and audit the use of Gensuite inspection tool for GMP inspection of the plant. Ensure compliance with close out of findings for the site when issues are identified.17. Participate in customer meetings and through the onboarding process to provide insight of the quality systems at the site.18. Maintain MDE permissions, use, and inspection completion to ensure compliance with verification of activities throughout the plant.29.

    Maintain a capital budget to ensure the correct equipment is being purchased for the lab to maintain adequate test results.20.

    Support and lead the lab team in their development to the next career steps, removing roadblocks and barriers for them to achieve their personal goal.

    Set up certifications within reason to support their growth plans and meet at least monthly to review objectives.21. Work with the lab team on union needs and questions to help understand the contract. Work with the site's union leadership to ensure contract compliance. Understand the team's needs/wants to help create a working environment that ensures its growth and harmony. Ensure that the monthly crew meetings presentation is prepped and ready, this feeds into BRC compliance. 22.

    Verify Vendor Management assessment is completed in Trace Gains, procurement approval and spec review, QMM, IAP, and IPX changes with internal and external teams.

    Facilitate new chemical reviews and approvals for the site. Work with procurement on supplier complaints.23.

    Maintain damage report list, block material, add batch remarks, GMP inspections, support in compliance with standards such as GMPs, pest control, glass control, training on quality systems, sampling techniques, reversing customer returns, cut and dump unblocking for transport, communicating quality issues that they are going to see coming from the plant, customer return inspections, transportation trailer issues inspection.

    24. Communicates changes to standards, customers, or specifications. Upcoming inspections or audits that are known. Reporting of analytical results from the lab to the team. Status of lab capabilities, equipment, and personnel. Chemical control program. Pest control program, GMP, HAACP, food safety, food defense, BRCGS, Halal, Kosher, dept of ag, FDA, etc. Water quality audits.

    Calibrations of quality equipment, annual quality training, Crew meetings, Contractor training, Lab scheduling and coverage, test method reviews, testing compliance, and ERG support.

    Externally communicate the plant's issues with quality, our quality goals/targets, and ensure audit compliance. 25. Oversees the timely release of finished goods and raw materials26. Retention sample management27. Prioritization of lab work assignmentsABOUT YOU1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences, Manufacturing) is required (or equitable industrial chemistry/micro experience). A master's degree or higher is preferred.2. Proven experience in a laboratory setting, including 2-3 years in a leadership role.3. Familiarity with laboratory techniques, methodology, and instrumentation related to the specific industry or field.4. Strong knowledge of laboratory safety guidelines, quality control procedures, and regulatory compliance.5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.6. Proficient in using laboratory software and data management systems.7. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with staff, clients, and management.8. Strong leadership abilities, with experience in supervising and motivating a team.9. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.10. Flexibility to work outside regular business hours, as needed. On call as needed.
