    Primary Care Surgical Coordinator & Patient Advocate

    Summary:

    The Primary Care service at Mount Laurel Animal Hospital is seeking a veterinary technician or experienced individual in the veterinary field to fulfill this administrative role within our multi-doctor, fast-paced Primary Care service. This role involves scheduling surgical and dental procedures, being the point of contact for clients, and working closely with both the doctors and lead veterinary technicians to provide seamless communication and care for clients pre-and postoperatively.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain email inboxes including appropriate and timely responses to client questions.
    • Assist doctors in communicating back with clients; reviewing normal lab work, etc.
    • Oversee the Primary Care surgical schedule including scheduling and confirming procedures and dentals and pre-surgical tech appointments.
    • Assist treatment room veterinary technicians in providing patient updates throughout the day.
    • Help doctors to prepare and schedule discharges.
    • Make sure estimates and paperwork are provided/completed before the procedure and collect deposits.
    • Maintain a wait/cancellation list and attempt to fill last-minute cancellation slots.
    • Coordinate procedures between departments (i.e.: outpatient ultrasounds, joint ophthalmology/internal medicine procedures, etc.)

    Skills, Experience, and Education:

    • 2+ years' experience in the veterinary field required.
    • Basic surgical knowledge including pre and postoperative care preferred.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, doctors, and support staff
    • Exceptional attention to detail; self-starter
    • Professional and calm demeanor

    *Also open to Veterinary Technician's looking to transition from a hands-on role to an administrative role*

    Full Time Schedule:

    • Typically 4 Days a Week
    • Shifts can range between 8-12 hours and may require at least one day a weekend
    • Shifts may range between 7am-8pm (Primary Care Hours) Ex. 7am-5pm, 12pm-8pm, 8am-8pm, etc

    Part Time Schedule:

    • Typically 2-3 Days a Week
    • Shifts can range between 8-12 hours and will require at least one day a weekend
    • Shifts may range between 7am-8pm (Primary Care Hours) Ex. 7am-5pm, 12pm-8pm, 8am-8pm, etc

    Physical Requirements:

    Largely computer/phone-based aside from patient admits and discharges as well as maneuvering through the surgical/treatment areas to provide patient updates.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    Starts at $19/Hour and is negotiable based on skill level & previous veterinary industry experience.
